For Realtek based USB 2.0 or 3.0 Ethernet Adapters, you can get the driver from Realtek which works for both 8153 and 8152. Network Interface Controllers 2.5G Gigabit Ethernet USB 3.0. RTL8156 / RTL8156B. Network Interface Controllers 10/100/1000M Gigabit Ethernet USB 3.0.
Apple and third-party vendors now offer several USB, USB-C, and Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adaptors. Why you would want to reference a 2016 article, a boat slow device, and a kernel extension that you cannot prove is safe, and probably far from compatible with Mojave — seems to abandon all common sense. You are simply begging for operating system issues if you are lucky, and potentially sacrificing privacy and financial information if that zip file is in reality, a facade for malware.
